One Foot in the grave

There are so many kind words for Michael Foot from all corners of the blogosphere. Dale doesn't need the hits, but his is probably the best.

But something stands out for me about this: everyone recognises his decency; and recognises his principles, even when they are completely opposed to them. Everybody has kind things to say about him, even Daniel Hannan. Hell, even the Ranting Penguin had some kind words to say about him! I wonder whether the left will be quite so generous one day when Baroness Thatcher goes? I hope that I'm astonished.

But somehow, I really doubt it.

Update: The Nameless Libertarian is a smart-arsed cunt.

Now that's a "Headline of the Year" candidate.

The fact that there was a successful West End play for many months about their being street parties at the news of Thatchers death suggest otherwise.

Lefties are small minded cunts.

Its a shame because I know for sure when she goes I'm getting a criminal record. First time I see some leftie celebrating I'm going to punch the fucker really hard right in the face.

M. Foot was clearly a very clever man, from a family of such egregious over-achievers that he scarcely stood out. He was not quite as nice as made out - I think we should be able to agree that comparing Churchill with Mussolini in 1945 was tactless, at least, although perhaps it was merited after Churchill's jibe about the Gestapo. But I could not help laughing when the BBC described him as a great communicator this morning - fortunately the voters did not agree in 1983.

What's the Nameless Libertarian done? I thought his post was excellent.

He mocked people who used the headline I used.
