Clive Davis talks out of his arse

Here, bigging up David Frum:

Can we conservatives please stop kidding ourselves about Barack Obama's "qualifications"? Yes, if I had been a Democratic donor back in 2006, I'd sure worry about whether Barack Obama had what it took to be president. That was before he took on the toughest political operation in America, before he beat Bill and Hillary Clinton, before he won 18 million primary votes.

I'm sorry, but what the fuck does beating Billary have to do with providing Obamalamadingdong with the necessary credentials to run a fucking country?

Obama's nomination was not handed to him. He fought hard for it and won against the odds. "Qualifications" predict achievement. Once you have achieved, it doesn't matter what your qualifications are.

OK, he can win a contest with a divisive harridan. Whoop-de-fucking-diddly-do.

Give me a former governor any day (i.e. Palin.) At least they have some grip on the kind of problems presidents face. Senators running for prez are just masturbating their egos. And give me anyone but Obama, the man is a content-free zone of vacuous flummery with a socialist mindset.

A decade of Blairism was enough for me.

From which I can only conclude that, in David Frum's opinion, surviving a few months of relentless butt-kissing by the MSM counts as an appropriate preparation for the presidency.

Absolutely nothing. But the Americans love a 'winner', and he has the appearance of a winner. And that's all that really counts...
