The former children's services chief who lost her job over the Baby P tragedy lost an appeal against her sacking today.
Sharon Shoesmith, 55, was dismissed without compensation from her senior position at Haringey Council in north London last month after a damning report into her department's failings.
She launched an attempt to overturn the decision to sack her but a panel of councillors rejected her appeal.
Good. Let's see more accountability, shall we?

Best (only?) bit of good news I've heard this year!
That's just the internal Haringey appeal. Next stop, m'learned friends start earning as the cow goes industrial tribunal etc. She is not the going quietly sort.
The only good thing is it will make her too toxic for anyone to ever employ again.
The Penguin
She had the temerity to *appeal*?!
Demagnetized moral compass and a neck of solid brass.
And just how many years of appeals does she get till some one caves in and has reinstated? With full back pay plus a hefty raise.
The buck re child welfare stopped with her. She was the head of the incompetence so she goes. Trying for compensation just ensures more people know her for what she is.
It will be interesting to see if and where she gets a new job.
Good news indeed.
However I believe this morally corrupt excuse of a menopausal bitch is getting some level of police protection.
Be nice to see her mugged and the plods wave graphs in her face showing her that violent crime is on the decrease. Some kind of poetic justice there methinks
