I wonder if the Gorgon reads my blog?

Pensions will be commercial "money-plan" types, there will no longer be a final salary scheme.

The move by Mr Brown could eventually allow politicians to propose scrapping all public-sector final salary schemes, currently enjoyed by millions including civil servants, council employees and health workers.

Things must be bad. But it will never happen, as the fat, troughing turkeys will never vote for Christmas.

Or, they'll vote for it in an attempt to wipe out the "troughing" image, then just get the same pension anyway through loopholes and tricks. They might be stupid, but they're not that stupid.

It's just the latest attempt to grab a positive headline and avert attention from the banking scandal, the Sri Lanka gaffe, the Home Economics Secretary's second home fiddle, etc.

Check out Lord Burns letting the cat out of the bag.

More likely as they have done to the existing Civil Service pensions. They will make new entrants join on less favourable terms to existing pension plans. A case of we're alright Jack but anyone who wants to join the club is shit out of luck. Knowing that a great many of the Blair bozos are staring down the barrel of unemployment they are not likely to change any existing arrangements.
