Scuttling cockroaches

Via the Bish comes this tale of probity in public life:

Would you like to be able to check on whether your Member of Parliament actually has a home in your Parliamentary constituency or not ?

Would you like to be able to work out which of their several homes, paid for out of public funds, is their main one, or whether they are "doing a Jacqui Smith" and claiming extra money for a more expensive London property, pretending that it is their main residence ?

Surely this information might influence whether you believe a Parliamentary candidate's claims to be a "local" or not ?

In future, you will be denied this basic information, which has been available for many years, without causing any "security" problems, following Monday's disgraceful vote in the Commons, if it is not overturned.

Members of Parliament have sneaked in an amendment, without any debate to the Political Parties and Elections Bill right at the end of the Report Stage, and just before the Bill was rubber stamped by the Commons for the Third Reading.

They really are so much more important than us, aren't they? We have to submit to databases over aspect of our lives, while they are explicitly exempted from these databases and now much more.

It's almost like they have something to hide, isn't it?

But you know what? It doesn't have to be like this. If you are tired of incompetent, mendacious, bullying government, there is another way:

The Only home of Libertarian policy in the UK

Your Life, Your Country, Your Choice.

Vote for the LPUK candidate in your area in the general election. It's time make politics represent each and every one of us again.

Can you let the people of London know that Im standing for the Libertarians in Hornsey and Wood Green?

I certainly will.

A vote for the LPUK will serve to do only one thing - dilute the most potent protest vote that we've got at the moment and ensure that Zanu-Labour's shock troop muppets get to crow about how they 'defeated' the BNP.

Its also why Pravda are so accommodating to UKIP - they're a useful safety valve for the establishment.

Don't be a part of the problem - be a part of the solution.

@anonymous: Seriously? Gosh, well on the basis of a message from one anonymous poster advocating the statist BNP, I will set aside ALL my Libertarian principles and advocate voting for the absolute antithesis of my personal beliefs.

I would rather stay in the EU under the Tories than be out of the EU under the BNP.

How's that?

"I would rather stay in the EU under the Tories than be out of the EU under the BNP."

So, you're not really a 'Libertarian' after all then, are you ?

Just a knobhead who thinks its clever to use a lot of swear words on his blog.

Prick.

@anonymous: So because I'd rather live under a semi-authoritarian government than a completely authoritarian government, I'm not a libertarian?

Intriguing.

Its interesting that the scuttling troughers in the mother of all parliaments are busy trying to hide themselves, whilst borough, town and parish councillors are still required to publish their address details.
Oh, I forgot, the majority of the councillors mentioned above are unpaid and receive minimal allowances if at all and many actually try and work with the interests of their constituents at heart
