Where have I seen this before?

No sense of protocol.
Hubris.
Irrational optimism.
Vacuous slogans with nothing behind them.
Pissing away money on stuff that doesn't actually work.
Massive media operation.

I don't like this at all.

Me neither.

What a presumptious gesture.

Oh and an iPod too - how thoughtful and historic a gesture.

Crasstastic.

Didn't an Australian politician get absolutely roasted for something like this? Something tells me the irreproachable First Lady won't get any stick, Gordo's too busy kissing hoop and HM is too polite.

I'd expect Michelle Obama to get away with something the Aussie PM wouldn't for 3 obvious reasons

1) The Aussie PM was a bloke. That's makes it slightly different.

2) The Aussie PM is PM of a country in the commonwealth and the Queen is his head of state.
She is not Barak Obama's head of state. That makes it quite a bit different.

3) Michelle Obama is the wife of the President of the most powerful country in the world by a wide margin, that happens to be a military ally. That makes it very very different.

But yes, Obama is America's Blair, undoubtedly.

Even better, an iPod containing the speeches of the One, The Only Messiah, His Blackness himself!

Now, that's arrogance squared..

Hmmm.

A half-hearted reception and a bunch of Region 1 DVD's for Brown. A mislabelled Big Red Button for the Russians. An iPod and an inappropriate embrace for the Queen. And a bow to the Saudi king.

Yep, the Clampetts have left Beverly Hills and moved into the White House. Do the call the White House fountain the see-ment pond? Do they use billiard cues as pot-pushers?

Y'all come back now, hear?

If the iPod which that nice Mr Obama gave to Brenda with his speeches on was one of the new 120GB Classics, I wonder what she'll fill the remaining 119.9GB with?
