Windows Update sucks donkey cock

I had some sort of random Windows "security" update last night. Now, no fucking process will terminate cleanly, causing all sorts of equally random mayhem.

Come on you motherfucking useless cock-sniffers, Windows has been around for fucking decades, can't you incompetent cunts make it stable?

Jesus fucking wept, give me something usable, like fucking AOS/VS.

CUNTS!

Unix is it, Obo. Surely you know that Windows is shite -- from 3.1 all the way to Vista 7, it's a kludge built on a foundation of kludges, and squashed right at the bottom is DOS 2.0!

Most windoze OS s should be classified as malware.
I turn auto updates off, if it aint broke then don't let gates fuck it up.

I must admit I'm real picky about what updates I let run on my laptop too.

OBo, Apple dropped OS X 10.5.8 last night. Downloaded, installed. 20 mins from start to finish. Traded forex as normal straight after...

Who is their right mind would pay Bill for his cluster fuck of retarded code?

Sue is more IT savvy than you, Obo.

End. of.

I get updates all the time from Microsoft. I get annoyed at just how many! Almost one a day sometimes. Just why does Bill need access to my machine so much? And what is he updating my machine with? I'm not computer savvy, so it could be just about anything!

@Sixty
That daily update is most likely for Windows Defender service which gives you some protection against spyware and other nasty crap that lurks on the internet.
If you don't want it, the service can be disabled butI'd only do that if you have some good anti-virus installed.

I recently bought a "CNM BOOK" a tiny netbook it runs linux which is burnt in to a Rom and cannot be fucked with. with Firefox browser its safe sufin,no virus or malware can fuck it up and when you switch it off it forgets everything.
The best bit though is giving microsoft the bird!!

I run Windows XP on my desktop because I use Cubase on it, and I've never, never had any kind of an issue with it. It's been no less reliable than my Asus Eee which I run Ubuntu 9.04 on (which I love).

Shit software annoys me, but nothing annoys me more than people slagging off Windows/Microsoft for no other reason other than "it's Microsoft", in the desperate hope that it'll gain them kudos and make them appear more computer-literate. It's fucking pathetic.

I had a security up-date which totall screwed my internet connection. wiped it out. I had to set it all up from scratch, which was tedious and unnecessary. I hate it when a supposedly good thing fucks up your computer.

I'm still on XP and it's great now they've stopped messing with it.

One update caused a total hang. 'Restore last known good configuration' fixed it.

If in doubt, chuck it out.

Bill Gates, cretinous though he has now become by wanting to give away all his money to shiftless lazy Un/NGO thieves and terrorists, did bring ordinary people like me out of the total darkness of uncomputing, and into (first) the dawn of DOSness, followed by the glad confident morning of Windows (various from whatever was about in 1988, Windows 2 I think?)

I think people hate Windows because id does the equivalent of what terrence Conran did in the mid 80s for glass pasta jars and earthenware ethnic Tuscan spice pots.

To techie geeks and OS men, who "write code" in the night, for hours, over cooling coffee cups:- Gates "took all your precious things, and he gave them to _everyone_ ... think about it?

To lurker:- I liked DOS 2.0! After learing the basic commands, and learning also how to be dicsiplined and focussed, I could actually _do stuff on a computer_ in my work, for the first time in my life.

There are no problems that I or my boy have ever had with any version of Windows we've ever used, that can't be fixed with a little thinking. I have run XPmediacenter on this machine for three years now without any trouble except tthat caused by other stuff like the odd trojan (the penalty for distributing viruses should be death.) The boy now runs Win 7 release candidate, also he says cleanly and without glitches on a 2-y-o Dell somethingorother. it does look impressive, and can even talk to his ipodtouch-thingy.

I think the problem stems from all you cleverpeople, who know how to "reverse-engineer" things, and who feel marginalised by the fact that Windows allows, most of the time, most ordinary bozos like me to do most of what we want, mostly moderately well, most of the time. This is just like lefty-intellectuals feel, when faced with capitalism and free markets and what these do for most ordinary people's life-improvement most of the time.

Have I a point here? Admit it: that's how most computer techies privately view Gates and Windows, isn't it! It closes out a lot of avenues for them to feel indispensable and important and punnditlike...

oh and I agree with Bristol Dave 100%.

I think there's a bit of NIH and sout grapes subliminally involved all over the place

@David Davis: +1 from here. Well said.

Hatred of Windows is a bit like hating Margaret Thatcher; just sooooo deeply, irresistably, achingly, latte-with-a-shot fashionable. Whether you remember her or not.

Wankers.

Windows solved a lot of problems for a lot of people, rescued us from 25 different operating systems of varying degrees of crudity, and got the cost of software down to something people could afford.

Perfect? NO. Better than being beholding to whole crowds of cocksuckers with greasy ponytails, no personality, BO and a bad shaving rash? Hell YES.
