the proposal that Libya pay compensation to IRA victims who were killed with arms supplied by Gadaffi
Yeah. The bastards. And the Americans who collected money for NORAID? How about them fuckers? Welsh Nationalists? Anyone else who supplied arms to the Irish?
And what about all the people who have been killed by the arms supplied by us to organisations of dubious morality? Shall we just dish out all our money to them as well?
Jesus. What has society come to when the death of our loved ones is "punished" by laughable sentences, amnesties set them free early and all we're fucking worried about is a few lousy shekels?
If Gadaffi hadn't given the IRA guns, some other fucker would've. He didn't fucking force them to to kill anybody. There is no other fucker anywhere in the world to blame, but the individual cunts who pulled the triggers. Nobody forced the IRA to kill people. Each individual has to accept the consequence of their decisions. That is the mark of a grownup. Ducking the responsibility for your decisions is the mark of a snivelling, snot-faced toddler.
And thinking that money can compensate you for the loss of a loved one marks you out as something less deserving of respect than a crack-addled whore.

Donovan had a similar theme in that old song "Universal Soldier"
We have to get this into the heads of our youth. Stop them joining the army.
Who's fault is Afghanistan? Corrupt politicians or the "individual cunts who pull the triggers"?
Unsure on this Oboe. Who (in any army, IRA/USMC/whoever) is to blame? The guy squeezing the trigger? The look out/recce? The officer who gave the order? Culpability, tricky moral dilemma.
Whoever may hold the blame, whether it's the person pulling the trigger or the officer who gives the order, it's not the guy who provides the guns.
Yet according to Buddhism arms manufacture is not a "right lifestyle".
Well, that's an issue for Buddhists. I, however, am quite happy for people to make guns.
What did the Buddhist say to the hot dog seller? "Make me one with everything".
Completely agreed. Nothing more to add.
