Is it just me?

Lately, there seems to be a fetish for matt black cars. I could understand the first couple of people trying it, even though it's not to my taste. But now I see everyone from Ford to Merc to BMW are producing matt cars. To be fair, BMW's is matt grey, but even so, what the fuck is this all about, anyway?

Enough with this shit already.

Why not just buy a normal black car and rub it with sandpaper?

I've seen a lot of these in Mayfair, BMW's, Range Rover Sports etc. I still can't decide if I like it.

I mean it looks a bit Dark Knight (batman style) on the other hand it looks kinda shitty. I dunno

Desiato Hotblack is out of fashion after the ship crashed?

Haven't seen one round here, but this reminds me of a firm in the Smoke some years back, who were offering "Fake" mud & dirt treatment for Range Rover owners. The ones who never leave tarmac, but want to impress their mates....

It even included a mud covered windscreen - except for the part swept by the wipers!

Leave one of those in the sun all day and boy, will you regret it.

Couldn't you polish it with a bit of olive oil, then buff it up with a chammy leather?

Maybe they are preparing for the day The Righteous ban washing of cars. Or a lower radar profile?

It creates drag to keep your spped down. A conspiracy by do gooders.

It's because the likes of Max Power, Fast Car, and Redline have been hammering home the idea that Matt Black is cool.

The main reason is of course that Johnny Chav can do it himself with around £100s-worth of matt black spraypaint from Halfrauds.

Not a fan of it myself, it's not as good as the shiny-shiny.

I'm convinced that with a bit of buffing with that chammy leather, you could see you face in it. Enough to put your lippy on.
