tut, tut, doesn't Hitchens know that B&D are the 'Gods of Writing' and no-one even comes close. Hitchens needs re-educating.

I did post a response to that piece yesterday but it doesn't seem to have made it to his site.
I often read B&D (and your blog) and I have to say I'm getting really fed up with Demetriou's behaviour. Boatang's staying cool, but JD has been pointlessly annoying people and I'm at a loss to understand why. Why is he driving away valuable contributors (Mr Rob), starting fights with Obo, wanking about on Twitter, winding up Hitchens?
If you're going to start a fight, it had better be for a good reason, and that's exactly the problem. JD starts and escalates these battles, and yet there's no point. Nobody learns anything, nothing good is achieved, and it becomes harder to have a sensible discussion in the future.
This is intended as friendly advice. If real-life issues are the problem then I have every sympathy, but JD really needs to keep them offline and just not post for a bit. Either that or go all emo Livejournal and tell us about it! :)
