I'm amazed. So someone who was fêted by a series of Prime Ministers and unaccountable bureaucrats, assisted by over-entitled Beeb management, troughing on taxpayer money, went from being a helpful charity doing important work to an overstaffed, completely unaccountable quango with overly lavish offices dishing out benefits on the whim of the founder?
What did you think was going to happen?
And what do you think is happening at all those other "charities" that exist solely because our tax money is shovelled at them?

What indeed? I know there's a website devoted to these 'fake charities,' but is there a list of real ones: that is, those with a minimum of (not very highly) paid staff?
I wish I knew how they get these things started.
And how it ends up that, to bail out some very embarrassed trustees, Oliver Letwin glibly signs a £3 million cheque days before the charity is wound up.
Mrs Batman will walk into another highly paid, lavishly expensed state job, with no questions asked.
The sort of corruption you'd expect in Nigeria.
"The sort of corruption you'd expect in Nigeria."
Well, if one will import the people, one can expect to import their cultural practices too...
