The 'Mail' this morning (in one more story of his corrupt dealings in funnelling taxpayer's money to personal friends) was adamant that insiders were insisting he stay, so as to have him as a sacrificial goat after the De Menezes inquest ends.
Now, less than four hours later, he's jumped (and is whining thhat it's all Boris's fault, no doubt to earn a pat from his political masters).
