Let us remind ourselves that the ACPO is a private company

This made my fucking head go "pop":

The Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo) has approved a new generation of cameras that are linked wirelessly and operate in clusters, meaning that speeding drivers will be caught whichever route they take across a wide area.

Unlike earlier speed cameras, Specs3 are digital and never run out of film. They read numberplates automatically and transmit data instantly to a penalty-processing centre.

Drivers who slow down briefly when passing them will still be caught because the cameras can be positioned any distance apart. There is no flash so motorists will not realise they have been caught until the penalty arrives in the post. They are harder to vandalise than Gatso cameras because they are suspended from arms on six-metre poles.

Acpo’s roads policing enforcement technology committee has approved the cameras after a four-year assessment of their accuracy, which included trials in Belfast and Camden, North London. Hackney, Southwark and Camden are among several London boroughs interested in using the cameras to enforce the limit on 20mph roads.

Who put these cunts in charge of the country while we weren't looking? Since when does a private company (funded by the taxpayer, naturally!) get to decide who and how we get policed?

More lamp-posts, more piano wire! Will there be enough?

Far too good for them.

wv=shistrus, which is a Sanskrit word meaning 'The utter cunts'.

A self-taught legal whiz kid found out that all speed cameras in use in the UK are illegal on the grounds that they have not been officially enacted in law by Parliament. He took them to court on the issue in Swindon and won! Hence Swindon took down all their speed cameras. Don't believe all that bullshit about not believing they achieve their purpose.

Can you imagine the caterwalls for repayment of fines from the cunts who call themselves the Safety Camera Partnership?

What happens if you got 12 points, lost your job and your house? The claims for damages will be enormous.

Isn't that a carribean island?

The ACPO have no legal authority to authorise anything.

Show me the statute giving them those powers...

A private company funded by taxpayers is an utter disgrace. Strange fruit will be suspended 6 metres high I reckon.
