The simple shopper strikes again

I have no idea why I was worried, to be honest.

Tip of the clown wig to obsidian.

Sorry to be so staid and stuck in my ways, but who or what is "national facepalm"?

Jacqui must have been out for a kebab when that passed across her desk...

'Facepalming' is when you cover your face with embarrassment at being caught doing something stupid.

Like having to let go of two of your advisers for ceating on their taxes... ;)

The story is somewhat disingenous. The chip may not be readable (yet) but the part along the bottom with the chevrons most certainly is machine readable.

It wasn't an accident or an oversite it was absolutely, cynically deliberate.

The card readers were left out to keep the headline cost down. The intention was and always has been to have the various agencies (police, NHS, post offices etc) pay for their card readers and supporting infrastructure out of their own budgets. This just makes it all the more difficult to work out how much this nasty scheme will cost.

I am not a number... I am a free man!! Yeah right.
