If elected, I will immediately ban speed-limited vehicles from overtaking between the hours of 06:00 and 10:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00. In the longer term, if companies wish to delimit their vehicles, that will be allowed, but the overtaking ban on speed limited vehicles will remain.

I'm sure it's a good idea, but for those of us (me) who are dim could you tell us (me) why?
Because allowing HGVs to overtake effectively limits long stretches of dual carriageway roads to 55MPH during the rush hour while knuckle-dragging cunts play "elephant races".
Perfect solution.
These buggers scare the crap out of me when they're busy playing "articulated tag". They rely too much on the assumption that those driving cars know that they will come off worse in a side smash, so they just pull out when they feel like it.
HAHAHAHAHA! Brilliant article.
Throw in pretty much any HGV / Lorry into that bracket too. That is, bar them from using any lane other than the slow lane.
I would also contemplate passing a 'Minimum Speed Limit' Law to replace those ridiculous laws that actually put a cap on peoples' speeds.
If speeding cars was an issue, there wouldn't be an issue. The problem is in fact bad quality driving. Not speeding.
So what does the HGV driver do if he comes up behind some obstructive Greeny in a Pious doing 45 mph on the motorway? Barge it out of the way?
On second thoughts, that might be the best solution.
Ramming speed.
There is already something akin to this on trial A14 westbound after teh Kettering junction to almost the M1 south bound exit. The signs state when it is to be observed.
Would you rather these knuckle draggers claimed benefits? Didn't think so. And by the way not all are as ill-educated as you so blandly state.
Agreed the dual carriageways do get clogged up by this, however many will drop back to allow the overtaking vehicle to get in front. Unforetunately some don't.
Greenies doing 45mph in left hand or centre lanes, Yep complete pain in the arse, and yep would be nice to ram them off the road, such driving causes accidents, it also makes driving a truck stressful constantly having to change gear to maintain speed.
On pulling out to overtake, or avoid the green fucknut at 45mph a driver will have looked to see that his lane his clear, and if a car is following, also has room to move over safely and continue overtaking the truck, unforetunately most car drivers don't use their mirrors, or worse can't judge distance and speed when looking in them. There is never any problem giving us a wide berth when the motorway is wet, do the same when it's dry!
Roundabouts are another source of mirth where a good number of car and van drivers seem to think the trailer assumes a proportionate circumference to the roundabout being negotiated and endeavour to overtake on the inside, only to find their road rapidly getting thinner.
Another problam with overtaking; three lane motorway, truck overtaking truck, in turn being overtaken by Winky Mcfucknut who has slowed to little more than the ovetaking truck, this also causes huge build ups.
I class myself as a relatively experienced driver, (some 100K per annum), but see bad driving every night, mine included.
Can we ban pensioners from the road between say 8-11am and 3-6pm as well please? Utter cunts doing 20mph in perfectly good driving conditions in a national speed limit zone.
In fact why not ban HGVs from the road in rush hour? I have a feeling they do that in the Netherlands and it doesn't seem to cause any major issues. Their road system works a fuck lot better than ours.

If there's one area the Frogs have it right, it is this.
During rush hours, HGVs are confined to lane 1.
HGVs are completely banned from the roads on Sundays & holidays.
However, the state provides them with prostitutes to butcher as recompense.
