Aaah but when it comes to IT needs Eric Pickles deserves a prize too - "In addition taxpayers paid more than £7,500 for a state-of-the-art laptop, printer and other equipment in 2005. He also states that he has never claimed for furnishings of any sort or any luxury items."
Way to go Eric - at least we know how you define luxury ...
He claimed more than £8,000 to cover the cost of cleaning his second home between April 2004 and March 2008, while his food bill over that period was £9,500. These sums relate to a four-year period and Mr Pickles did point out that he never once claimed the maximum £400 available for food each month.
Macs "expensive to repair" - well, that is like saying Mercedes are expensive to repair compared to a Ford. Fact is, Mercs and Apples do no break down as often and in the case of Macs need "The IT crowd" far less to keep them running.
Still, considering that that average MP is unlikely do do anything more than surf and email, why not get them a iPhone and save on the Crackberry?

I noticed my MP the oily fish (copyright leg-iron) did the same. Wholly for parliamentry use? Bollocks it will be full of sheep porn
Expensive to repair, expensive software, complete waste of money. Imagine the PC for 350 quid would have been better value.
What on earth does he want to do on a computer that costs over a £1000?
Gaming, graphics, CAD?!?!?
Aha, at last, a thieving cunt with a touch of finesse!
"What on earth does he want to do on a computer that costs over a £1000?"
Gaming or CAD, that's the only things I can think of.
Oh, and fiddling expenses, natch!
You have to admit, the Mac looks sexier than any PC.
Maybe it fitted in better with the top dollar furnishings and fittings we fucking paid for?
he needs that mac shoved so far up his arse he chokes on it. CUNT.

I bet Mr Pickles spends that much on food per day. The closest he's ever been to a vegetable is his surname.
My local grasping hoon of an MP, also has a Mac on expenses.
Well I hope he gets Call Of Duty 4 for it otherwise its a waste of tax payers money.

I have a Mac. I've had massive problems with it almost from day one.
The OS is nice to use - when it's working - but the rest? Fuck that.
Chris Bryant's laptop must have been gold plated.
