Call it my natural cynicism...

... but for some reason when the Teleprompter Jesus declared that the world was now a safer place since Osama Bin Laden had been shot and conveniently fed to the fishes, I wasn't entirely convinced.

Nor, it seems, was anyone else after every country in the world raised its threat level to "Shit your pants and keep a close eye on brown people".

I can't help but feel like Obamalamadingdong has done exactly the wrong thing here and given the sick, ageing terrorist, who was becoming marginalised all over again, a brand new centre-stage martyrdom.

This kind of summary "justice" just doesn't leave me even remotely reassured. I don't, for one moment, believe that Osama Bin Laden did not deserve to die. He absolutely did, but he was not tried or found guilty. Crime is filled with people who have claimed responsibility for the crimes of others, and Osama never really did get round to being proven guilty for anything he was blamed for or took responsibility for.

The whole story stinks, and I'm not the only one who thinks so.

He was shot on the orders of a supposedly "liberal" president who may just need an amazing turn of events to boost his flagging popularity. The same fucktard who then immediately turned around and lied about how much safer this murder has made the world, while cranking up the security a few notches for the rest of us.

When Obama came to power, I noted how much he reminded me of Tony Blair, smooth and unprincipled and a master of presentation but fuck-all else. It didn't occur to me that he was just as viciously amoral as that murderous cunt Blair ever was.

It never occurred to me that he would actually go as far as "killing" Bin Laden just to bolster his poll ratings.

Perhaps he "killed" Bin Laden, because it had been the policy of the previous president as well that Bin Laden had to be at least captured, which is what they claim to have been attempting to do, rather than wanting to execute him.

So, actually it might have been the actions of a president doing just what the American people expected him to do, at the first reasonable opportunity he had. Not, as you suggest, some publicity stunt. That would presume he knew where Bin Laden was for some time, but was sitting on acting until he thought it useful to his ratings? Proof please.

Thought that was a prerequisite.

all lefties and indeed righties are Amoral when it comes down to remaining in power.
Consider this fool got a Nobel peace prize ......amazing.

For "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and co-operation between peoples".

Invading a sovereign country and committing murder.

By the write up in the Telegraph, anybody'd think Obamy was God.

He masterminded it all. Apparently.

It is for this reason of ill health that Obama did exactly the right thing. Jihadi flames are dying and they need a fanning - how else can the GWoT be sustained?

I have seen it said of Mark Steyn that national disasters bring out his 'inner wingnut'.

Activities like this do it to you Obo. (The only comparison with the peerless Steyn you shall get from me)

"It never occurred to me that he would actually go as far as "killing" Bin Laden just to bolster his poll ratings."

Yup, no chance he killed him for any other reasons, like, er... it was policy before he even got to office.

Capturing him would have endagered the lives of many more Americans, as would bringing the body back. See if you can work out why.

He had been indicted more that once, court room testimony has been given as evidence. He could always have volunteered for trial, but he didn't. Boo hoo.
His videos alone prove the worth of his death.

@Mitch. Which was the 'amoral' part of this?

Anyone can claim to find something rare - like an antique - and then just chuck it in the sea. Where's the proof that Bin Laden is dead?

Good for you! MY sentiments exactly. I wrote a post highlighting the illegal capture and extermination in contravention of domestic and international laws of Bin Laden ,but the Americans responded as they are expected to do so.

Nice to see someone else on the same page[even if you are a clown] ;)

Bored.....What sets America apart form the 'terrorist's they hunt down?

Bin Ladens 'purported' crimes- Desire to bring Sharia law to the western world + blowing up 2 buildings[keeping things in perspective]= terrorist.

Bush/ Blair- Bringing 'democracy' to the Middle East + carpet bombing a whole city=axis against evil*.

When America is not funding and arming to the teeth the Zionists, Saddam Hussein[when he was America's number 1 friend, educated in GB] and the IRA, of course, because that would just make them hypocrites ,wouldn't it?

The problem with America is that they opt in and out of their own Constitution, the UN and Geneva Convention when it suits. Yet they wonder why they are a target for events like 9/11?
Maybe Bin Laden was his own axis of evil waging his own war on terror?

GET.REAL !!! [ the OLD guy was sick in bed!] If the Americans can't capture him to bring to trial under those circumstances I want my taxes back!!!![ and I am not even American].

Sorry clown.

Basically bollocks.

Where did they carpet bomb?

Why is 'purported' in commas? Are you suggesting Osama was not responsible?

Arming 'zionists'? Good, where is the crime in that. It's not like they don't face an existential threat daily, also the Muslims in the zionist lands don't seem in a hurry to move to Muslim countries, wonder why that is. There are now two basically democracies in the region. I would fund and fight to protect both.

I am going to stop this it is pointless.

Let me just say your weak moral equivalence exercise is logically unsound.

Have the US ever tried to inflict the maximum possible civilian casualties? No.
Has Osama? Yes.
They try damn hard to avoid it, for the PR if nothing else. Osama sought to do specifically that.

It is shoddy logic and frankly bollocks.

Also, you seem to compare Sharia to Democracy. Good luck with that. I am not as relativist as you, I am happy to fight for the one and against the other.

If the fucking Americans backtrack and change their story again we will find it was not Navy seals but bloody performing seals.

The US should have "gone all medieval on his ass" and stuck his head on a pole for all to see as per your Che Guevara link.

4 less scumbags in the world. Can you not see the wave of hijackings and hostage situations if the old bastard had been captured?

Short of capturing him and secretly holding him the yanks had little option. He had to be hunted down, and he was going to be executed at the end of the due process. So they cut out the waste of a defense team's time.

Now could they not secretly invade Bradford and summarily execute all our fenugreek smelling cunts?

So AQ have just announced their leaders death. What does your natural cynicism say about that??

The Blessed Tarka of St. Rotter said...

Well, having pondered long and hard over the moral maze which surrounds vengeance, killing another human being, our western values and the need for justice, I revert to the traditional Anglican position which, in essence, says "Rejoice, the evil bastard has fallen off his perch, he is dead, gone, no more."

"he was not tried or found guilty"

ffs, since when does Obnoxio need to turn it over to the lawyers to spell out the bloody obvious to him.

I'm with banned. If they really wanted to protect American lives, they should have put his head on a pole in Times Square.
