Spike Milligna, the well known typing error....

Thanks, Obo - one of the few good things about getting old is remembering real comedians like this lot. What the hell are todays kids going to have for memories in 30 years time?

Aye. When I were nobbut a youngun, I used ter listen to t' Goons on my crystal set, I didn't understand a lot of the "army" jokes ("last turkey in the shop" etc), but I was only about 8.

Fortunately, there are still very good, comprehensive archives of "The Goons" accessible from 'te interwebs. I have about 120 goonshows on my laptop at the moment. I also have all 6 (or is it 7?) volumes of Spike's war memoirs trilogy. :-)

It's worth mentioning that quite a number of the shows were written or co-written by Eric Sykes.

I have every Goons episode. They are still hilarious. I think this part is from "The Whistling Spy Enigma" (S5E1).
