Unintended consequences again, again!

Here's a prime example of why governments should not be trusted to anything but the very barest minimum:

The huge increases in migrants over the last decade were partly due to a politically motivated attempt by ministers to radically change the country and "rub the Right's nose in diversity", according to Andrew Neather, a former adviser to Tony Blair, Jack Straw and David Blunkett.

He said Labour's relaxation of controls was a deliberate plan to "open up the UK to mass migration" but that ministers were nervous and reluctant to discuss such a move publicly for fear it would alienate its "core working class vote".

So, these genii decided that for the sake of some cheap political point-scoring, they'd open our borders, alienating their core voters and leading to a surge of support for the BNP. The same left-wing BNP that they now bang on about as being right-wing, despite the fact that almost everyone who votes BNP is either a fool, a cunt or a disaffected Labour voter. So, a fool or a cunt, then.

The BNP themselves portray their party as "the Labour Party your grandfather would have voted for" and their policies certainly bear that out.

I'm not surprised Labour ministers are completely freaked out by the BNP -- they're having their own incompetence and stupidity rubbed in their faces now.

So, if ever you think that the government is the way to get something done properly, just remember that the government consists of people, people who are just as stupid, petty, incompetent and useless as you or me. And if you think that by collecting lots of individuals together, you somehow improve the quality of decision-making, remember this*:

Proof, if it were needed, that no-one in the government of the UK thought that "rubbing the faces of racists in multiculturalism" might provoke some kind of unpleasant reaction.

And if you think that people get the government they deserve, doesn't that make you want to shit in your pants?

* There actually appears to be an entire branch of management research devoted to the first poster: as far as I can tell, it's completely true.

Why are Nulab so keen to portray the BNP as right wing? Don't they remember the National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei)?

A lot of us did wonder how NuLabour's high command, with their top degrees from elite institutions, could possibly be such blithering idiots. Now we know that what we always suspected is true: they deliberately let these immigrants in, not to rub the right's noses in it, but to ensure there would always be a socialist government. Three million immigrants is a handy pool of Labour voters, especially if they can't think for themselves because their heads are stuffed full of Islamic garbage. Then with five million welfare claimants and how many millions of public sector passengers, and Tory voters fleeing the country, they should have been home and dry. Pity for NuLabour it didn't work out that way, thanks to the economic Chernobyl they have caused, but then nothing they do ever works out as intended does it? Serve them right that they are now sliding inexorably towards history's waste disposer and the current gang of wastrels will never hold office again. Pity for the wealth creators too, who have to live in Labour's mess and pay the massive cost of cleaning it up.

@bayard: of course they want to portray the BNP as the opposition. Lefties cannot stomach the fact that apart from their racism, the BNP is undistinguishable from 1970's Labour.

Who wants to be associated with nastiness?

Because they don't want working class Labour voters to realise there's now an actual far-left nationalist party that they can vote for; Labour have taken a big, wet, stinky shit in their core supporters' cornflakes on the assumption that said supporters would have to eat it up because they had no other option, and now the BNP are offering them a real alternative with real far-left policies.

As a libertarian I'd be horrified by a BNP government, but I can see why someone from a working class area which is being taken over by foreigners who had lost their job to one of said foreigners who was willing to do it for minimum wage would support them over any other British party.

"Proof, if it were needed, that no-one in the government of the UK thought that "rubbing the faces of racists in multiculturalism" might provoke some kind of unpleasant reaction."

But even the article itself shows they understood enough to be scared stiff of what would happen once the working class saw themselves being tossed out of work in favor of cheap immigrants: "ministers were nervous and reluctant to discuss such a move publicly for fear it would alienate its "core working class vote"." They absolutely expected an unpleasant reaction if the truth ever came out.

When Britain becomes a neo-Nazi state under control of the BNP or some other group of far-left nutters, you'll know exactly who to blame... a bunch of Marxist tossers who've never held a real job in their lives and decided to destroy the country for the sake of making the same kind of petty political points they once did in some poxy student union.

everyone that votes BNP is a cunt? everyone that votes FULLSTOP is a cunt, except those few BNP voters who use their vote to show disgust for the current government and it's main rivals, without actually doing any damage. it isn't like they are gonna get in, so why not get people taling about them with a bit of harmless support. when they become the official oposition, or even in the top 5, you can start to worry, until then LONG LIVE THE BNP, the only party that doesn't hide their cuntishness. You are a cunt if you vote for the big three and expect things to improve. Getting the tories in will be like voting for a slightly less aggressive form of cancer.
