Remember that night?

I certainly do. It was fantastic, but it was curious how the audience politely enjoyed Gilmour's new stuff and exploded when he played Floyd.

Floyd's music is, to me, curiously timeless and beautifully structured: it sounds like there's more going on than is actually going on. And being able to hear some of the world's finest musicians play it live is about as close to rapture as I'm ever going to get.

Yeah, that was a decent gig. Was less impressed at how Whats-her-name butchered Great Gig in the Sky but the rest of it was pretty good. I say pretty good, he had Rick Wright on keyboards and Nick Mason on drums, so when he brought out the old Floyd stuff it was fucking fantastic.

Anonymong 12:06: You are a fucking woman, that's for sure: you moan that I never post anything useful, just rip-offs from the chive. Then when I post something you say it's not good enough and I should stick to posting rip-offs from the chive.

Which fucking one do you want?

Cunt.

SHould have been at Knebworth for the Silver Clef show in 1990 - have a gander at "Run Like Hell" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=voBODG8kvLw), absolutely searing; and "Comfortably Numb (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pws0ITGyogo) - it's pissing down and at about 5:30 you can see the rain running down the guitar neck while Gilmour's playing and he's loving it! Doesn't get my=uch better.

What do you suggest they listen to instead? Dannii Minogue?

They might be geriatric farts but by god have they made some good music.

If you can't recognise the talent and sheer musical genius in Dark Side Of The Moon or Wish You Were Here then frankly you're a fucking idiot. Even those I've met who don't like the music still appreciate it as being fairly incredible. Me, I think it's fucking epic.
