Can someone please enlighten me?
Trenton Oldfield is apparently proud of the fact that 500,000 people googled "elitism" after his fucking up something that two teams of people had trained pretty much their whole lives for.
I can therefor only assume that as soon as Tommy Robinson starts drawing attention to Islamic "religious elitism", lefties will be queueing up to beg him to bomb mosques.
Seriously, what is this fucking bullshit? Why is it OK for Trenton Oldfield to "draw attention" to the "damage" that "elitism" is doing to the country, while Tommy Robinson is hated for "drawing attention" to the "damage" that "Islam" is doing to the country?
It's perfectly feasible to argue that both have benefits and both have drawbacks. But picking on one is fine, picking on the other is the ultimate thoughtcrime.
Arguably, you have less control about which social circle you're born into that which religion you choose to follow.
Picking on someone because they're born black is disgusting and shameful. Picking on someone because they were born gay is hateful and cruel. Picking on someone because they were born rich is ... fine?
Can someone please clarify for me why being born in the "person of colour" group is a reason for veneration, being born in the "alternate sexuality" group means you're great, but being born "rich" means you're an unspeakable cunt and there's no reason to give you the same respect you'd give anyone else?
And can someone please explain why people who are all fans of Richard Dawkins (or even Richard Dawkins himself) can rip the shit out of Christianity (which is a load of bollocks perpetuated by fallible misogynist cunts) but not Islam (which is a load of bollocks perpetuated by fallible misogynist cunts)?
Surely they're all deserving of respect or none of them are deserving of respect?

Police State Klaxon
The Metropolitan Police has asked groups planning to demonstrate during or in advance of Margaret Thatcher's funeral to make themselves known to officers so that their "right to protest can be upheld".
I'm sorry, what?
What fucking shit is this? Why the fuck would the police need to know who wants to protest so that they can "uphold" their right to protest? See that fucker over there protesting? Uphold his right. Jesus.
The next thing you know, people will have to apply to the police for permission to protest. Oh, hang on.
Look, Thatcher was a flawed politician, any politician is flawed. I also remain unconvinced that her "achievements", good or bad, were down to her alone. Unlike Blair, she still believed in having a cabinet where relevant ministers made their own decisions. That the mines closed down and industry was gutted was much more down to the unions having no business sense and believing they could leech indefinitely more and more off a failing, sickly host. So I'm not convinced that her veneration by the right is justified.
I can understand the hatred of the left, however, because it's much easier and more desirable to blame someone external for your own complete, abject failure than to look at yourself and say: "We fucked up." The petulant, pouty lip of people who weren't fucking born or were still in nappies when Thatcher was ejected from power is ludicrous, but typical of the whingeing lack of responsibility of communitarian, authoritarian leftards.
But having said all that, if people want to protest her, they should be free to do so and the police's burgeoning contempt for the Peelian principle of policing by consent needs to be slapped down very soon.

Gothic policing
Sorry. I just had to stop and sit with my head in my hands for a moment and think about how fucking stupid that is.
Apparently, this is because someone got killed because they looked a bit different.
Sorry, I had to stop and rock back and forth again, keening.
I almost can't work up the strength to blog about this stupidity. All this kind of thing does is to encourage people to focus on their differences, not their common humanity.
All this is going to to is to validate the sick fucks who go around looking for excuses to beat people up. Society gives preferential treatment to one group, which makes people not in that group resentful. This then validates them when they express their frustration.
I find it odd that people who support things like quotas and "positive" discrimination never work out the consequences. By highlighting the differences between people, you diminish the things we have in common. Adding to the pool of differences simply adds to alienation. "I'm not in one of the approved groups, so I'm not worth as much as a human being."
The only upside I can find to this is that if this divide and conquer bollocks is taken to its natural conclusion, ultimately we will all end up in some "preferred" group or t'other.
But we could short-circuit that process and immediately focus on that ultimate minority: the individual. Treat every crime against people as an affront to the person, not to some specious, artificial group.
Or is that too much to ask for?

Cyprus
I cannot believe that anyone can still think of the EU as any kind of force for good if they are prepared to take this kind of action to protect their precious, impractical, insane, vanity project currency.
What's worse is the Pandora's box that's been opened. Now, any government in need of money will simply hit your bank accounts, your pension any fucking thing they want and can with a "one off stability levy" that doesn't even need discussing in parliament.
Just so they can piss it up against the wall of their incompetence and interference.
Nice going Urophiles.

I didn't predict a riot
I am acquainted with a local rozzer and if what she's telling me is true, it's either going to, or already has kicked off in some unlikely, sleepy places.
Out of nowhere, mass uprisings of what really do appear to be nothing more than well-organised scrotes are going out and indulging in some high-impact shopping.
It's quite mind-boggling. Lefties have been quick to leap on the bandwagon of "Tory cuts", but since I see no evidence of cuts anywhere, I am forced to conclude that they're talking bullshit.
In fact, I want to say some more about this. When I was a kid, my parents were not, by any definition of the word, rich. I went to a "theme park" exactly once as a child, and we literally had just enough money to get in. We trudged around the park looking at the exhibits and stuff, did all the free things and then left. We didn't even have enough money to buy a cold drink. I was not inundated with the latest consumer playthings. As soon as I was legally able to, I went and got a job.
My parents provided me with clothes, food and a roof over my head. I never went out to riot, the idea never even occurred to me.
This just looks like a mad surge of thugs out to help themselves to new TVs and various other bits and pieces. Expect a massive surge of cheap electronics on eBay next week.
I am actually quite angered by "the left" blaming this on social deprivation and a lack of role models. First of all, the state has, for decades been visibly throwing money at "social deprivation" at the behest of the left, and now it's clearly not working and the argument is that we need to throw more money at it, because it just wasn't enough? By far the biggest component of state spending is on welfare. And now more spending on welfare will have a better result?
And the lack of role models thing really gets on my tits. By making it viable for any woman to be a single parent, by making it reasonably easy for a single woman to raise children on their own, what the cunting fuck did they think was going to happen? I mean, you can argue the case for single mum-ness, and you can argue the case for lack of good role models, but you can't have that particular cake AND eat it. All the single mothers I know take their parental duties seriously, and that included not having an abusive or useless father in the house.
And fair play to them, it's easier to be a single mother than make the effort of going off to find a decent father figure who can also provide. I don't make light of the effort required to find a decent and compatible man. But then you can't wring your hands and say that somehow this violent behaviour is excusable because the perpetrators don't have a good role model in their life. Your policies have made it much more likely that they would grow up like this.
Some of the stories I've read have been horrifying, like this tale of an injured boy being casually mugged by looters.
It is one of our worst nightmares, really, a mass insurgency of violent, amoral thugs, storming homes and shops, casually burning buildings and cars and looting with apparent impunity. And it came out of nowhere. The ostensible cause of it all, the shooting of an allegedly armed man, bears no relation to the scale and delightful social inclusiveness of the subsequent rioting.
Scuttlebutt is that the looters are using a number of social media sites and tools to organise the looting with nearly military precision.
The police have been rocked back on their feet. BoJo and the massively-foreheaded cunt have curtailed their summer holidays. Cameron has been photographed repeatedly looking serious, pensive and statesmanlike, while BoJo has apparently disgraced himself completely and made a laughingstock of himself. Both of these underscore just how much use modern politicians are.
Of course, far be it from me to point out that one of the great advantages of a state is that it protects us from things like this happening. Or so I'm told, repeatedly. Without a state, we would descend into mayhem and nihilism. Mindless violence and thuggish theft would rule the day.
I'm so glad that the state has prevented this from happening out of the blue.
The truth is, the inability of the police to bring this under control underlines the value of the state quite clearly. Eventually, the thugs will get bored and run out of easy prey and it will quieten down and the state will claim victory.
Sadly, that will not be the case.
The state has been systematically removing the normal tools of ensuring civility and cooperation from us. They claim a monopoly on defending us from violence, exhorting us not to resort to evil vigilantism. But if you look at how useless they've been at stopping this from happening, it's abundantly clear that it really cannot protect us from the one thing that "everyone" agrees that we need a state for.
The thugs will eventually get bored and go do something else. The police will arrest a trivial number of them and by the time they get to trial, the usual hand-wringing bollocks will kick in and nobody will get an appropriate punishment. Insurance and the taxpayer will pick up the pieces and a couple of businesses will be shut down, further destroying jobs and inflicting poverty and misery on innocent people.
We will be told that the state has sorted things out, when in truth boredom and apathy will be the only things that actually stop the mindless violence.
The only people who will wind up paying for this will be taxpayers and anyone who actually pays insurance. Thugs will be reassured that no-one will actually do anything to stop them if they ever feel the urge again and we will all be worse off.
And still the sheep will cry out that the state is necessary to protect us from this exact thing, that the state prevents it from happening more. Therefore we need more state, so that the state can protect us even more.
It makes me weep.

Terrifying!

Update: It seems like this is not the truth any more. However, the actual truth is hard to ascertain, because the Home Office website says it's seven days, while Damian Green says it's fourteen.
So much for a quick blog then.

Right Wing Extremist Spies on Climate Campers with British Army Equipment
Nick Martian | 21.08.2010 17:24 | Climate Chaos | Ecology | Workers' Movements | Liverpool | World
There appears to have been a deadly serious game of cat and mouse going on between environmental activists, a local Scottish journalist, and the right wing extremist who has been threatening violence against the Camp for Climate Action in Edinburgh.
Boasting that he is a professional soldier recently returned from fighting in Afghanistan where he says he killed Muslims for reading Islamic literature, and now posting his threats on Twitter under the name “wearethebritish” the extremist claims to have been using British Army military surveillance equipment to spy on the climate campers.
Local journalist Jono Warren who posts on Twitter as “nmec” was alerted by LutherBlissetts, one of the climate camp activists, to the fact that the Camp for Climate Action was being threatened:
LutherBlissetts @nmec - wearethebritish says he has gun metal Aston, lives one hour away from climate camp and intends to pay 'scruffy squatters' a visit
@nmec has EDL @wearethebritish turned up to Climate Camp yet?
Nmec @LutherBlissetts Not that I'm aware of.
The wearethebritish spy however was apparently not far away from the climate camp also posting his Twitter messages:
wearethebritish Sitting in car somewhere in Edinburgh - laptop on 3G - have extremists from climate camp under close observation - dull people haven't noticed
Drove to edinburgh to put climate camp under close observation total anti climax – utter non-entities – complete #fail
@ShugNiggurath have been watching them up close - rag tag bunch of hysterical useful fools – climate camp carbon footprint very high
wearethebritish @PoliticalFun check out @LutherBlissetts - he's 'alerted' some kid with a camera to my proximity and dull boy hasn't even seen me
PoliticalFun @wearethebritish I've just found the tweet, hilarious!
You take the guy out of the military but you just can't get the military out of the guy! What surveillance equipment you got?
Are you hunting?
wearethebritish @PoliticalFun "What surveillance equipment you got?" - because they are so pre-occupied with their obsession all I need is a Mk 1 Eyeball
PoliticalFun @wearethebritish are you sitting there taunting them?
wearethebritish @PoliticalFun "are you sitting there taunting them?" - lol, no, they aren't worthy of action - mostly spoilt middle class kids - nobodies
AlJahom @wearethebritish a muck-spreader fully of slurry would be perfect for them. @PoliticalFun
wearethebritish @PoliticalFun @AlJahom climate camp comes with its own self-contained dung heap - a walking squawking steaming midden of irrelevance
wearethebritish @PoliticalFun guys a twat isn't he - these guys think they are so dangerous, so radical, so 'underground' .... the world is lol'ing at them
wearethebritish @ShugNiggurath oh yes - plenty of methane coming out of both ends - truth is that climate camp is a toothless figure of fun and ridicule
wearethebritish come on tweeps - let's all gather round to point and lol at the spoilt little rich kids of climate camp
Tamsin53 @wearethebritish agree some of the anarchy people come from middle class well off families - just thinking of the Redgrave family
wearethebritish @Tamsin53 climate camps kiddies are a laughing stock - multi-billion RBS won't take any notice of them, even Police are openly lol'ing at them
wearethebritish so far climate camp is an absolute failure but then a few spoilt middle class kids were never going to make a dent in a multi-billion corp
The people of Edinburgh couldn't care less about climate camp 'activists' they know RBS is good for their city & soon climate camp will leave
Overweight students should diet not riot - not that soft-skinned spoilt little tubby munchkins are any good at rioting either climate camp
Templar1128 @wearethebritish yes the farmer should use the tractors to push the layabouts off his land.. bet they're claiming benefits though..
LutherBlissetts @wearethebritish climate is changing. precession & glaciation cycle beyond our control yet effects of anthropic change not beyond our control
wearethebritish @LutherBlissetts afternoon sherlock - too bad we didn't meet - maybe next time sonny
@Political_Fun my twittercrush hates me...... isn't it fun
CynaraeStMary @wearethebritish Who could hate you?
Political_Fun @AlJahom Eh? Who's beans I want to know who @wearethebritish has a lefty crush on??
wearethebritish @Political_Fun it's the climate camp chic ....
wearethebritish @AmeliaGregory why? well a) I like her name, I once dated an Amelia from Kenya (Happy Valley type) b) She has guts & drive c) She hates me
wearethebritish all the chics now checking out my twittercrush
wearethebritish @AmeliaGregory we're talking about you ....
@AmeliaGregory I'm just round the corner from Jenners if you want to meet me for afternoon tea & buns!
The right wing extremist who calls himself “wearethebritish” and who has been posting threats of violence against the Camp for Climate Action seems to have spent the afternoon spying on the climate camp, avoiding being seen by the journalist he knew was looking for him, and posting his unpleasant messages on Twitter.
Maybe he is just the cowardly clown that he appears to be but threatening to burn down the climate camp and using British Army surveillance equipment to spy on the climate campers is probably illegal, and the fact is that a lot of people are now taking this man and the rest of the members of his group very seriously, just in case they might be as dangerous and murderous as they claim to be.

As for surveillance equipment, did you actually *read* what the guy said?!? A 'Mk1 Eyeball'.
It's a joke. It means he's using his /eyes/ to spy on them.
Sigh.

It is highly illegal for this equipment to be taken and used except in war zones because it can be connected to the latest weaponry which can wipe out large numbers of people in a split second.

"Gun metal Aston" is army slang for secret top of the range sniper rifles similar to the weapons used by James Bond.
General Disaster and Major Catastrophe
Climate campers should not be risking their lives like this
22.08.2010 00:04
He should be reported to the police and the media should be asked to help provide the campers with as much protection as possible otherwise this could turn into a tragedy.

Apparently, King James (he of the well-known bible version) was an avid uphill gardener. His favourite furrow to plough was apparently the Duke of B(uttf)uckingham.
